Larry A. Bruck

OTTAWA  --  Larry A. Bruck, age 66, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Peter Ward officiating.  Burial will follow in Summitview Cemetery, Ottawa.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Karl, Drew, and Grant Lengfelder, Bill Zeman, Steve Doerrer and Jerry Myers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Ferguson and Bob Marten.

Larry was born June 14, 1947 in Ottawa, the son of Arthur and Mae (Johnson) Bruck.  He is survived by his sister, Mary Lou Stevens of Ottawa;

his niece Lori (Karl) Lengfelder and his nephew, Mickey (Maeanne) Stevens, all of Ottawa; great nieces and nephews, Shannon ( Steve) Doerrer and their children, Ryan and Luke; Erica (Bill) Zeman and their son, Kai; Lauren (Jerry) Myers and their son, Preston; Drew Lengfelder; and Grant (Olivia Gastineau) Lengfelder and their daughter, Sophia.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother in-law, William Stevens; and a nephew, Craig Stevens.

Larry was a member of the Illinois High School Association.  He officiated at many regional, sectional, and state final games in baseball, basketball and football.  He also officiated and coached Pony League and Youth Football.  Larry was named IHSA Official of the Year in 2000.  He had been employed by the Ottawa Street Department and was former manager of Winners Circle Sporting Goods and South Towne Mall.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ottawa Township High School or Marquette High School Booster Clubs.
