William "Bill" Joseph Fuller

OTTAWA- William J. "Bill" Fuller, 78, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral services will be held Noon Friday, February 17th at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery with Last Alarm Badge Rites by the Ottawa Fire Department and Military Honors by the Ottawa Veterans Organization. Pallbearers will be Bill's sons and sons-in-law, Tim, Jay, Jim and John Fuller, Chad Donath and Dan Wisneski. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan and Andrew Wasilewski, Cassie Fuller, D.J. and Kaed Wisneski, Maya Fuller and Johnathon Fuller. Bill was born September 11, 1933 in Ottawa, a son of Robert and Edna (Charbonneau) Fuller. He married Frances Damyen April 14, 1956 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa. Bill is survived by his wife, Frances "Fran" of Ottawa; his children, Tim (Melody) Fuller of Ottawa, Jay (Karen) Fuller of Ottawa, Jim (Cindy) Fuller of Decatur, IL, Teresa (Chad) Donath of Bella Vista AR, Judy (Dan) Wisneski of Marseilles, and John (Chris) Fuller of Ottawa; one sister, Carol (Tom) Knutson of Ottawa; a sister-in-law, Elaine Fuller of Naplate; eight grandchildren; six step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; one niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Michael, in infancy and a brother, Robert Fuller. Bill served in the U.S. Army for three years. He retired from the Ottawa Fire Department after twenty-one years of service. He was Past Commander and a life member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Shoreline Boat Club of Ottawa as well as the Lake Norfork Boat Club in Mountain Home, AR. In his leisure time Bill enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, and playing cards. His most treasured times were those spent with his family and friends.
