William T. "Bill" Bragg

OTTAWA – William T. “Bill” Bragg, age 67, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with The Reverend John Walker and The Reverend Jane Esterline officiating.  Burial with Military Graveside Rites will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Gladfelter Funeral Home.

Bill was born April 21, 1945 in Ottawa, a son of Lyle T. and Jean (Blue) Bragg.  He married Charlotte Majerus January 10, 1976 at the Congregational Church in Ottawa.  He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Charlotte “Char” of Ottawa; his children, Stacey (John) Fowler of Ottawa and Darren (Stacey) Bragg of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Cash and Kenleigh Fowler of Ottawa; a brother, Robert Bragg of Peru; and a cousin, Jenan Jobst of Ottawa.  His parents preceded him in death.

Bill was affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church of Ottawa.  His lifework was in farming until his retirement in 2002.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War.  Bill was passionately involved and loved coaching Ottawa Pony League Baseball and avidly followed his players various milestones through life.  His hobbies included golf and baseball, especially following his beloved Cubs.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship and Outreach Committee or the Deacons Fund.
