William "Bill" Arnold

William "Bill" M. Arnold, age 62, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 21st at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Jane Schomas officiating. Interment will follow in Grand Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday. Pallbearers will be Tyler and Colton Arnold, Zachariah and Lucas Carroll. Dustin Robertson and Mike Block.

Bill was born December 6, 1960 in Ottawa, Illinois, a son of Rex and Ruth Ann (Hertzner) Arnold. He married Victoria Robertson November 7, 1986 at Grand Ridge, Illinois. Surviving is his loving wife, Vicki; his children, Amber (Orudzh) Samedova of St. Louis, MO and Tyler Arnold of Ottawa; and a grandson, Emmitt Arnold. He also leaves his mother, Ruth Ann Arnold of Grand Ridge; a brother, Gerald (Peggy) Arnold of Donovan, MO; and a sister, Diana (Larry) Carroll of Granville, IL. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Rex Arnold; grandparents, Albert and Florabelle Hertzner; an uncle, David Hertzner; and a nephew, Brandon Arnold.

Bill retired after 40 years service as a truck driver. Leisure time would find him enjoying car races, woodworking and watching YouTube. He also enjoyed being outdoors camping and watching birds and squirrels. The time Bill enjoyed most was that spent with his family and particularly playing with his grandson, Emmitt.
