Walter Eugene Farrell

Walter E. Farrell, 73, of Ottawa, died Friday evening, March 16, 2007, at Community Hospital of Ottawa. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial of the cremains will be later in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services. Mr. Farrell was born September 19, 1933, in Ottawa, to Joseph and Anna (Eisert) Farrell. He was married to Virginia Voyles on June 3, 1956, in Ottawa. He was a self-employed carpenter for 40 years and retired in 1999. He is survived by his fiancee, Joan LaPradd; two daughters, Joanne (Kim) Dyer and Terry Farrell both of Ottawa; two sons, Gary and David both of Ottawa; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Bill) Buckingham of Kirksville, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death a son, Eugene Lee; three brothers, Robert, Charles and Joseph; five sisters, Darlene Moore, Beverly South, Mary Ann Powell, Joan Verly and Jean Tucker.
