Velma M. Husted, 95, of Sandwich, formerly of Ottawa, Died Friday, November 24, 2006, at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Columba Catholic Church with the Rev. Jack T. Heraty, pastor of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sandwich, officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with liturgical prayers at 3 p.m. Mrs. Husted was born November 19, 1911, in Brookfield Township, to James and Margaret (Connor) Hollahan. She was married October 30, 1934, in Marseilles, to Edward Joseph Eich. He died August 12, 1952. She then married Ernest F. Husted on February 19, 1955. He died February 14, 1978. She worked as a waitress at the Ottawa Sweet Shop and retired from CTS Knights in Sandwich. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sandwich. Two daughters, Margaret "Peg" Ve Zain of Ottawa and Dolores "Dee" Littlebrant of Sandwich; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren survive her. She was preceded in death by three sons, Donald Eich, Lee and Clyde Husted; two brothers, James and Alphonso Hollahan; and four sisters, Katherine, Margaret and Julia Hollahan and Susan Denny. Pallbearers will be all grandsons, Joseph, Geoff and Daryl Ve Zain, Craig Hartman, James Eich and Clyde Husted, Jr. Memorials may be directed to the family
