OTTAWA – Thomas R. Stoutenborough, age 59, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Morton, Illinois.  Gladfelter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Thomas was born December 30, 1957 in Peoria, Illinois, a son of Raymond Ross and Mary Elizabeth (Davidson) Stoutenborough.  He is survived by brothers and sisters, Linda Krendick of Peoria, Cathy (Denny) Loser of Morton, David Stoutenborough of Rome, IL, Sally Stoutenborough of Washington, IL formerly of Morton, Pieter (Sue) Stoutenborough of Morton and Scott Stoutenborough of Morton; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Carol Stoutenborough and a niece, Kayla Campbell.

Thomas served in the United States Navy and attended Crossbridge Community Church of the Nazarene.  He retired from the State of Illinois in Medical Services and worked at various facilities in Illinois.  Thomas loved to travel, particularly to Wisconsin.  He was known to enjoy collecting autographs of celebrities and considered himself LeAnn Rimes’ biggest fan.  Thomas graduated from Olivet Nazarene University.  He was one who enjoyed school and continued his education throughout his life.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd Floor, Bethesda, Maryland 20814 or Manteno Veterans Home, 1 Veterans Drive, Manteno IL  60950.  To share a memory or light a candle, please visit www.gladfelterfuneralhome.com or Gladfelter Funeral Home on Facebook.
