Thomas M. Anderson, age 77, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Thomas was born March 17, 1945, the son of Abraham "Jake" and Marguerite "Dollie" (Zucker) Anderson, in Ottawa. Thomas went to school in Ottawa and graduated from Ottawa High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He married Merrie Vicini on April 3, 1971 at St. Mary's Church in Naplate. Thomas worked for AT&T for 34 ½ years before he retired. He loved working outside in his yard and playing with his grandsons. Thomas was an avid collector of second hand items to be repurposed. He was a member of the Ottawa American Legion Post 33 and the Knights of Columbus 634.

Thomas is survived by his wife Merrie; children, Melissa (Lucas) Kilgore and Tommy (Ashley) Anderson; brother, Steve Anderson; grandsons, Gaige Anderson and Jameson Kilgore. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law, Sharon Anderson.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 4, at Noon with Monsignor Mark Merdian officiating at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home. Military Honors will be accorded by the Ottawa American Legion Post 33 Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Jeffries, Jason Kennedy, Nick Allegretti, and Gary Tabor.
