Sylvia E. (Ralrick) Anderson

Sylvia E. Anderson, age 83, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Prairie Crossing in Shabbona.

Funeral services will be held at Noon Tuesday, April 30th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till Noon Tuesday at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Tom, David, Mike, Dominic and Thomas Haws and Shannon McGregory.

Sylvia was born January 26, 1936 in Ottawa, a daughter of Anton and May Fay (Dobbs) Ralrick.  She married Harry Wayne Anderson May 22, 1953 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa.  He preceded in death August 13, 1982.  Surviving are her children, Barbara Hoxsey and Laurie Haws of Ottawa and Kurt (Denese) Anderson of Florida; a brother, Calvin (Barbara) Ralrick of Bellview, NE; and a sister, Ruth Roth of Ottawa.  She also leaves grandchildren, Ryan Hoxsey, Erin Schillo, Daina (Bruce) Hunter, Nicole Hoxsey, Kurt Anderson, Jr., Eric Anderson, Amanda Anderson, Jessica (Shannon) McGregory, Tom (Della) Haws and Michael (Kim) Haws; step-grandsons, Dave Haws, Jr. and Jeremy Haws; 20 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Anton and Larry Ralrick; and sisters, Mary Stacy, Barbara Gaff and Erma Costa.

Sylvia was a member of St. Patrick Church in Ottawa, Catholic Daughters and the Ottawa Chapter of Navy Mothers.  She enjoyed sewing, dancing, horseback riding, working with flowers, swimming and playing cards.
