Stephen J. Schilllings

GRAND RIDGE – Stephen J. Schillings, age 61, of Grand Ridge, passed away Monday, May 14th at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa.

Memorial services will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Stephen was born March 22, 1957 in Mendota, the son of Edward and Geraldine (Gertsen) Schillings.  He married Betty Durbin on September 2, 1982 in Ottawa.  Surviving are his wife, Betty, of Grand Ridge; a son, Josh Schillings, of Ottawa; a daughter, Cindy Phelps, of Ottawa; a twin brother, Scott Schillings, of Ottawa; a sister, Janet Grubb, of Cary, IL; five grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Adrian Phelps.

Stephen was employed by Silica Sand as a truck driver.  He enjoyed bicycles, remote control airplanes and boats as well as slot cars.
