Stephanie Heermann

November 22, 1921 — January 25, 2015

Stephanie Heermann, age 93, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at La Salle County Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Rev. David M. Kipfer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Joe Stanke III, Roger Stanke, Jason Stanke, Eric Heermann, Jeff Heermann, and Zachary Stanke. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters: Sue Jenkins, Trina Kunzler, and Taylor Stanke.

Stephanie was born November 22, 1921 in Ottawa, the daughter of Michael and Catherine (Ganosevich) Zuk. She married George Heermann January 1,, 1952 in Ottawa. He preceded her in death November 2, 1983. Stephanie is survived by two sons, Joseph (Judy) Stanke of Austin, TX, and Tim (Marion) Heermann of San Francisco, CA; her grandchildren, Sue, Joe III, Roger, Trina, Jason, Eric, Jeff, Zachary and Taylor; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joe Zuk of Naplate. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Heermann; a daughter, Karen Stanke; three brothers, Paul, Harry, and John Zuk; two sisters, Mary Panko and Ann DeBernardi; and a daughter-in-law Maryann Heermann.

Stephanie was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church and Ladies of Columbus. She was retired from Borg-Warner. Stephanie enjoyed antiques and spending time renovating her home.
