Shirley Ann Cullmann

November 23, 1939 — September 21, 2015

OTTAWA – Shirley Ann Cullmann, 75, of Ottawa passed away Monday September 21, 2015 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Gladfelter Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from noon until service time Friday.  Entombment will follow in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Jonathan, Lucas, and Christopher Cullmann, Wesley, Nathan and Anthony Chrzan, Craig Champlin and Aaron Burns.

Shirley Ann was born November 23, 1939 in Ottawa, Illinois, the daughter of Marcel and Alice (Maltas) Thiry.  She married Leo Mau Cullmann on July 27, 1962 at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Ottawa, he preceded her in death August 27, 2008.  Surviving are her children, Skip (Linda) Cullmann of Ottawa, Faye (Robert) Cullmann-Sieck of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Alvena Chrzan of South Bend, Indiana and Skye-Lea Cullmann of Ottawa; and her brothers, Bob Thiry of LaSalle and Jimmy Thiry of Texas.  She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Shirley Ann was a member of Crossbridge Community Church.  Shirley’s family was her number one priority all the time. She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also enjoyed crafting, keeping in touch with friends on Facebook and Pal Talk, and the occasional gambling excursions.
