Sabyna (Grinis) Sensiba

OTTAWA – Sabyna E. “Subby” Sensiba, age 94, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at her residence with her loving family at her side.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Father Mike Driscoll officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Jason and Jeff Sensiba, Patrick, Brent, and Markie Hirschman, Morgan and Saje Branson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Paul and Danny Sensiba, and Donny Branson.

Sabyna was born July 31, 1921 in Joliet, the daughter of Dominic and Theresa (Kunke) Grinis.  She married Lawrence Stanley “Cowboy” Sensiba January 25, 1947 in Joliet.  He preceded her in death February 4, 1990.  Sabyna is survived by her children, Robert (Liu) Sensiba of Houston, TX, Nancy (Skip) Hall of Dayton, IL, and Patty (Bobby) Cortez of Houston, TX; her grandchildren, Jamie Brewer, Donny Branson, Paul and Jason Sensiba, Krissy Diaz, Lisa Varney, Danny Sensiba, Alex Garza, and Jennifer Cortez; and her great grandchildren, Stephenie, Patrick, Brent, Markie, Kylee, Nathan, Alaina, Saje, Morgan, Ellie, Jeff, Josh, and Jacob.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy and Ricky; one grandson, Ronny; one great granddaughter, Heather; one brother, Dominic Grinis, and one sister, Virginia Nussbaum.

Sabyna was member of St. Columba Church.  She was also a member of the Moose Lodge of Ottawa.  Subby was an avid Bingo player.  She also was a Wheel of Fortune junkie.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
