OTTAWA - Roy D. "Ratchet" Wagner, age 75, of Ottawa, passed away at 2:41 a.m.. Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the LaSalle County Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday March 29, 2010 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Billy and Michael Schueler, Jason and Steven Murphy, Candy Dike and Kim Wagner. Honorary bearers will be Rich Gaul, Hank Graham and Matthew Dike. Roy D. Wagner was born March 16, 1935 in Spring Valley, Illinois, a son of Roy John and Mabel (Barnes) Wagner. He married Margaret Howell November 24, 1955 at the Presbyterian manse in Ottawa. Roy is survived by Margaret, his wife of 54 years; his children, Cindy (Bob) Murphy of Montgomery, Illinois, Roy J. (Kelley) Wagner of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Steven (Becky) Wagner and Kathy (Randy) Schueler all of Ottawa. He also leaves a sister, June Meyer of Marseilles; grandchildren, Jason and Steven Murphy, Candace Dike, CPL Michael and PFC William Schueler and Kimberly Wagner; and five great-grandchildren. His parents, two grandchildren and a sister, Madge Wagner preceded him in death. Mr. Wagner was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Millwright Local 2158 Retirees. Roy enjoyed refinishing furniture and collecting antiques. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
