Ronald Erik Rosengren, 69, of rural Ottawa passed away on July 18, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.
Ron was born August 28, 1952 to Stanley and Jean (Edgcomb) Rosengren. Ron graduated from Serena High School in 1970. He married Christine Hinterlong on March 25, 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a lifetime member of Serena United Methodist Church. He farmed in Serena Township and was co-owner of Pfau/Rosengren Trucking. He was a past member of the Serena Fire Department and was a member of the LaSalle County Board. Ron Retired from the LaSalle County Highway Department and was Serena Township Road Commissioner for 14 years. He also Worked for Serena Road District for over 40 years.
Ron is survived by his wife Chris, three sons, Michael (Tami) of Ottawa, Robert (Joan Wheatland) of Serena and Jonathan (Ashley Schiffgans) of Serena; two brothers, Randy (Judy) Rosengren of Ottawa, and Rich (Kathy) Rosengren of Marseilles; a sister, Gail (Mark) Buehl of Marseilles; three grandchildren, Ava and Kane Rosengren and Brayden Backos; his mother in law, Roseann Sutton of Goshen, Indiana; two sisters in law, Jody (Ron) Bernard of Marseilles, Angela (Michael) Black of Goshen, Indiana; two brothers in law, Tony Hinderlong of West Virginia, and Andy (Kinda) Hinderlong of Tennessee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his fathers in law Howard Hinterlong and Larry Sutton.
At Ron’s request, there will be private graveside services for the immediate family at West Serena Cemetery. Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is assisting the family.
