Roland Gale Comer

Roland Gale Comer, age 79, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.

Family services and inurnment will be held in Florida at a later date.

Roland was born April 26, 1945 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Louis Edward and Lela P. (Davis) Comer. He is survived by brothers, Louis James (Deborah) Comer of Florida and Donald (Debbie) Comer of Ottawa; a sister, Judy Griffin of Florida; an aunt, Lorraine Phoehl; an uncle, Herb Comer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jerry Comer, nephews Don Comer, Jr. and Bobby Wilson; and a brother-in-law Henry Griffin.

Roland had been employed at Peltier Glass. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching Marquette and Ottawa High School football games. Roland would often be seen walking around town and especially enjoyed walking to events at Washington Park and downtown Ottawa. He was a kind and caring man and will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
