Roger W. “Bill” Pachter, 75, of Seneca passed away Saturday, March 9th at OSF. St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday March 16th at St. Patrick’s Church in Ottawa, IL. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday March 15th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home in Ottawa, IL. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Aurora following the Mass on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Matt Rozhon, Tom Stephens, Kegan Anspach, Noal Hazelgrove, Nick Rozhon William Reynolds and Asher Miller.
Bill was born on June 6, 1948 in Chicago the son of Joseph and Cora (Schumacher) Pachter. Bill graduated high school and joined the United States Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam. Bill married the love of his life, Kathy Quinn, on February 10, 1973 at St. Joan of Arc in Lisle, IL. Bill worked for Caterpillar until his retirement. He was an outdoorsman who loved working in his yard and tending to his vegetable garden. He was a handy man when it came to woodworking and made many of the furniture pieces in his home. He was also good at fixing and repairing cars for his family. Bill enjoyed helping others and never expected or wanted anything in return. He was a proud Marine and a man of faith. Above all, Bill was proud of his family and loved them very much. He will be deeply missed.
Bill is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Tina Miller, Andrea (Matt) Rozhon, Megan Merrill, Tim (Brandi) Pachter, Jessica (Tom) Stephens, and Perry Pachter; a sister, Viola Fleischman; grandchildren, Jozelyn, Asher, Kearra, Nick, Caitlyn, Noal, William, Brittany, Leah, Amelie, Olivia, Estelle, Gracie, and Ellie; great grandchildren, Jackie, Joey, and Arlun; many nieces and nephews and a special family member, Kegan (Meghan) Anspach. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ron, Bob, and Rich Pachter; and a sister, Carol Hinterlong.
