Rodney L. Smith

SHERIDAN - Rodney L. Smith, age 42, of Sheridan, passed away at 6:42 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Harding Grade School with Bruce Shaw and Randy Satterfield officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery at Morris. There will be a luncheon from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Harding Grade School. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday at Harding Grade School. Gladfelter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Rodney was born April 15, 1967 at Morris, Illinois, a son of Arthur R. and Patricia (Fisk) Smith. He is survived by his parents, Art and Patty of Sheridan; brothers, Edwin L. (Patricia) Smith of Antioch, IL and Donald (Kathie) Smith of Ashland, IL; and his step-grandmother, Pauline Fisk of Morris. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald. Rodney was a member of the Christian Church. He had been involved in Lighted Way at LaSalle and Open Door at Sandwich. Rodney will always be remembered as everyone's friend.
