Robert L. Torres Sr.

OTTAWA – Robert Torres, Sr., age 63, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services for Robert will be private.  Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren Willa, Jake, Evie, Parker and Julia.  Gladfelter Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Robert was born September 5, 1954, in Chicago, to James and Mary (Martinez) Torres.  He married Sharon (Harden) Torres on August 28, 1976, in Chicago.  He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Ottawa; a son, Robert (Natalie) Torres Jr. of Ottawa; and a daughter, Liz (Bryan) Broznowski of Plainfield.  He also leaves brothers, Ricky (Mary Jo) Torres of Streator, James (Roxanne) Torres and John (Janet) Torres all of Ottawa; a sister, Anita Medina of Ottawa; and grandchildren, Willa, Jake, Evie, Parker and Julia.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Francis Jarmillo.

Robert was employed at Exelon for more than twenty years.  He loved his family dearly and was extremely proud of his grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as “Pop-Pop.”  He also had a spot in his heart for his “fur baby” Sassy.  Robert loved being outdoors golfing, hunting and fishing.  He was an avid Chicago Bears and White Sox fan.  He also enjoyed western shows.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
