OTTAWA - Robert Telfer, 76, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Ottawa Pavilion. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Monsignor Jerome Ham celebrating. Interment will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday with Rosary Service at 5:30 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Dan Ostby, Dan Ostby, Jr., Ronald "R.J." Cherry, Sonny Preci, Ronald Shipley, Troy Fleming and Scott Travi. Bob was born August 2, 1934 at Ottawa, Illinois, a son of James and Lillian (Loeffler) Telfer. He is survived by two sisters, Marie Telfer of Ottawa and Mary (Norman) Clevenger of Long Point, IL; a nephew, John (Pam) Cherry of Ottawa; a niece, Christina (Troy) Fleming also of Ottawa; as well as several other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. His parents; a brother, William Telfer; and a sister, Carol Smith preceded him in death. Bob was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was a retired employee of the Ottawa Care Center (Ottawa Pavilion).
