OTTAWA – Robert “Bob” Jansen, 62, of Ottawa passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Ray Hoffmann and Scott Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chuck Garner, Dale Whittington, Scott Whittington, Dan Tweedt, Roger Fox and Jerry Stitt.
Robert was born October 4, 1949 in La Salle, a son of Wayne Eugene and Pauline (Newsome) Jansen. He is survived by his mother, Pauline Jansen Fisk of Morris; one brother, Larry (Donna Sue) Jansen of Springfield, MO; his sisters, Patricia (“Chuck”) Garner of Anna, IL, Donna Tweedt of Pontiac, Peggy Jansen of Pennsylvania, and his twin sister, Rita (Dale) Whittington of Morris; as well as several nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death.
Robert was a member of the Ottawa Moose Lodge. He was a truck driver and was employed by Boe Oil, which became Feece Oil. In his spare time he enjoyed boating. His most cherished leisure time was spent working in his yard and helping farm.
