Robert Sverre Anderson, Sr.

Robert "Mud Pie" Sverre Anderson, 66, of Ottawa, died Saturday, May 26, 2007, at his home. Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating followed by full military honors by the Ottawa Honor Guard. Private burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Wednesday until the time of services. Mr. Anderson was born April 1, 1941, in Ottawa, to Sverre and Frances (Wentz) Anderson. He married Mary Jane Shawlinsky on July 15, 1969, in Ottawa. He served in the U. S. Army; He was a member of the Am Vets, 40-8, past commander of the American Legion Post No. 33, former member of the Honor Guard, retired Ottawa Fireman, retired Sheridan Correctional officer, and a lobbyist for the Fireman's Union Widow and Orphans Funds and Pensions. He is survived by his wife; a son, Robert Jr., of Ottawa; two daughters, Robin of Portland, Org., and Christine of Ottawa; four grandchildren; and a sister, Patrice "Pat" (Ruben) Rodriguez of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Arnold J. Anderson. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
