Richard B. Reese

Richard “Rich” B. Reese, age 53, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 4th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home. Interment will follow at West Serena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Thursday, February 3rd at the funeral home.

Rich was born August 10, 1968 in Ottawa, the son of Rodney and Nancy (Miner) Reese. He married Michelle on August 26, 1989 in Ottawa. Surviving are his wife, Michelle; mother, Nancy (Darrell) Cochran; children, Riley (Mackenzie Ciesielski) Reese, and Briana Reese; brothers, Irwin (Michele) Ayers and Robert Reese; granddaughter, Hazel Reese, and Step-mother Judy Reese. He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Reese; uncle, Don Reese; aunt, Maggie Maltas; his grandparents, and his father-in-law, David Morecraft.

Rich worked as an operator at Grain Co. FS. He loved the outdoors and especially loved camping and fishing. He would love to go snowmobiling in the winter, although he had to give it up at the age of 43. He was a handyman and enjoyed working on and restoring his trucks. In the last year, his pride and joy was his granddaughter, Hazel. Rich would be very thankful for the constant support, as he was always there for others as they were for him. If anyone knew him they would know how simple of a man he was and how much he hated attention drawn to him. He loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed by many.
