Richard A. Cox

Richard A. Cox, 52, of Ottawa, died Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at OFS St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral services will be at 12 o'clock noon Friday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. David J. Ufkes pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marseilles officiating. Burial will be Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of services. Mr. Cox was born October 5, 1954, in Marseilles, to John and Lorraine (Joanis) Cox. He graduated with the class of 1972 at Marseilles High School. He married Mary Lee Thomas on May 9, 1987, in Marseilles. He was an employee of GE Plastics for over 30 years. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife; a son, Jason (Jennifer) of Higley, Ariz.; a daughter, Sara Cox at home; a grand daughter, Grace O'Boyle; a brother, Jack (Jennifer) of Morris; two sisters, Sandie (Keith) Greenan of Marseilles and Becky (Dan) Vogt of Gilroy, Calif; his mother of Marseilles; and several nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by father; and his grandparents. Pallbearers will be Chris Saar, Bill Denton, Chad Cox, Todd Gondolfi, Jerry Joanis and Dan Mlinek. Memorials may be directed to the family.
