OTTAWA- Ramona “Mona” Melgoza, age 72 of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at her residence.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Gladfelter Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mona is survived by her daughters, Wendy (Steve) Lahey of LaSalle, TX, and Theresa (Stanley Johnson) Melgoza of Ottawa; sons, Anthony (Renee) Melgoza, Jr. of Ottawa and Kenneth (Pauline) Melgoza of Grand Ridge. She also leaves brothers, Gary Larson of Eau Claire, WI, Kenneth (Norma) Larson of Beloit, WI, and David (Vicki) Larson of Ottawa; her sisters, Wanda Sommer of Eau Claire, WI, Janet (Jim) Glenna of West Lafayette, IN, and Vicki (Steve) Sieg of Osseo, WI; her ex-husband, Tony Melgoza Sr. of Ottawa, IL, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Sharon Sault.
Ramona was born October 23, 1940 in Eau Claire, WI to Kenneth and Gladys (Schreiner) Larson. She spent many years in the food industry. She loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mona was known for her cooking and baking. Many family members and friends were recipients of her “Christmas packages” full of goodies.
