OTTAWA – Phyllis A. DeBernardi, age 87, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Private services will be held Monday, March 13th at Gladfelter Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.
Phyllis was born November 11, 1929, in Ottawa, Illinois, a daughter of Andrew Francis and Edythe Frances (Wolter) Rosenfelder. She married Richard Eugene DeBernardi June 15, 1947 in Ottawa. He preceded her in death January 20, 2013. Surviving are her children, David Michael (Jill Quick) DeBernardi of Ottawa and Debra Susan (Tim Probyn) DeBernardi of Peoria; grandchildren, Kim and Shelly Nelson, and Danielle and Charlie Engel; great-grandchildren, Sydney Anderson, Mitch Maggio, and Faylinn and Viola Nelson; great-great-granddaughter, Naomi Anderson. She also leaves nieces, Judy Ehrlich and Denise Ecklund. Phyllis was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Jean and Terri Lynn DeBernardi; a brother, Richard John Rosenfelder; and two sisters, Shirley Enid Hollenbeck and Lois Juverna Rosenfelder.
Phyllis was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family and had an affection for her beloved cats, Socks and Sheba. Memorial contributions may be directed to Pet Project, Just Animals or Illinois Valley Rescue.
