Phyllis E. Charlier

Phyllis E. Charlier, 98, of Ottawa, passed away on November 21, 2024, at the Pavilion of Ottawa.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 26 at 2 p.m. at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Reverend Jennifer Amy-Dressler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Entombment will follow in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Phyllis was born July 13, 1926, in Ottawa to Glenn and Edna (Ostrander) Bowers. She married Raymond Charlier on October 17, 1945, in Ottawa. He passed away on September 26, 1977. Phyllis worked for 18 years at the LaSalle County Farm Bereau. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School and served on the Deacon and Education Boards. She also volunteered with the Campfire Girls and Scouts for many years. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed traveling with her family, playing Euchre and baking bread. She loved going on walks and was a dog lover. Phyllis will be deeply missed by her family.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Barbara Houston, and Beverly (Rick) Launius; grandchildren, Deeann Jildah, Eddy LaBarge, Kylie Halterman, Pamela Encinas, and Michael and Nicole Launius; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Don and George Bowers; and her sons, Donald and Dale Charlier.
