Penny Davidson, age 71, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024
Penny was born March 15, 1953 in Ottawa, Illinois, to Charles and Delsey (Friend) Wilkinson. She married Thomas "Tom" Davidson July 15, 1972 at the First United Methodist Church in Ottawa. He preceded her in death December 21, 2024. Penny is survived by her daughters Nicole (Christopher) Wynn of Ottawa and Danielle Furar of Mark, IL. She also leaves grandchildren, Andrew (Jennifer) England, Quinn Gray, Aiden "A.J." Furar and Jacob Furar; great-granddaughter Rain Hansen; a sister Pam (Greg) Carretto of Georgia; brother-in-law, Danny (Sue) Davidson of Ottawa numerous nieces and nephews; and neighbors who were special friends to Tom and Penny, Steve "Boomer" and Debbie Marmion. Penny was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom; and sisters Patricia Wilkinson, Phyllis Revell and Peggy Aubrey.
Penny retired from the Ottawa Elementary School District, and even after retirement enjoyed volunteering her time and talents to support the schools. Penny enjoyed collecting anything to do with Coca-Cola. She dearly loved her family and took pride in being the "family historian.". Penny and Tom found great joy in attending their grandsons' various sports activities.
Visitation for Tom and Penny will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 27th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. with the Reverend Seamus Enright officiating. Following cremation, Tom and Penny will be entombed at Oakwood Memorial Park.
