Paul W. Ridenour, age 72, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, September 20, 2019, at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22nd at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with the Reverend John Nordstrom officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded by the Ottawa American Legion Post 33 Veterans Group Honor Guard.
Paul was born November 8, 1946 in Ottawa, Illinois, a son of Daniel and Alma (Williams) Ridenour. He married Susan Derango May 12, 1972 in Ottawa. Paul is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Tracy (Michael) Beattie and Paula Maier all of Ottawa; grandchildren, Kobe, Colette, Madison, Michael, Madeline and Taylor; and a sister, Velma LeGare of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired in 2008 after 27 years driving for Conway Trucking. Paul enjoyed working his land. He was a man who was loved by all who met and knew him. His greatest joy in life was taking care of his family and spending time with them and his many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks in honor of his grandson, Kobe.
