Pamela Rae Henley, age 60, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 10th at Gladfelter – Roetker Funeral Home with the Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pamela was born November 2, 1957 in Hinsdale, Illinois, a daughter of Orville “Pete” and Charlotte (Fisher) Anderson. She married George Wawerski in 1975, and later married Michael Henley in 1989. Pam is survived by a daughter, Darien (Wawerski) Mitchell of Ottawa; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Brady Mitchell; and a great-grandson, Weston Whitney. She also leaves two brothers, Ross (Joani) Anderson of San Jose, CA and Dennis (Ruth) Anderson of Sacramento, CA. Her parents and three sisters, Dawn Finn, Virginia “Ginny” Paris and Debra Bornet preceded in death.
Pam had moved to Salida, CO in 2011 where she had been employed as head clerk at Safeway, Inc. She also served as the union representative for UFCW Local 7. Pam was very dedicated to her job and received numerous awards from the company as well as letters of commendation from the public. Cooking was her passion. Her leisure time would find her enjoying the company of her family and friends, attending garage sales and shopping thrift stores. She was “hooked” on Facebook and loved collecting pictures of Darien and the grandchildren. She loved the Steve Miller Band and had the pleasure of attending a concert of theirs in Colorado.
