Owen S. Murray

Owen S Murray, 77, of Ottawa passed away on Dec 16th at Pleasant View. He was born in Streator on August 27, 1932 to Sprague and Margaret (Larson) Murray. Owen served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 - 1956. He was a former member of the Ottawa Jaycees and helped to raise funds for the Ottawa Rescue Squad which he received the Spoke Award. He was also a former precinct committeeman and served on the LaSalle County Board. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He is survived by his former spouse, Jane Murray, three daughters, Susan Giddings, Colleen (Bill) Galloway, Ann (Dean) Szobar, one son Michael (Ginger) Murray and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Virginia and two brothers Richard and Sheridan. Private services were handled by Gladfelter Funeral Home.
