Oliver Ernest Enquist, Jr.

Oliver "Ollie" Ernest Enquist, Jr, 78, of Ottawa, died Friday morning, January 19, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. John Walker of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Cremation will be accorded. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Mr. Enquist was born October 6, 1928 in Omaha, Neb. to Oliver Ernest and Dorothy May (Hammon) Enquist. He married Ida Gates on March 3, 1951 in Bellevue, Neb. He was a retired telecommunications worker moving to Ottawa from Missouri in 1998. He was a Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1960. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Peggy Enquist of Ottawa, IL, Sandra Miller of Ozark, Mo and Kathy (Bryon) Smith of Sister Bay, Wis. three grandchildren, Kristina Miller, Heather Earwood and Scott Miller; five great grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Anderson of Huber Heights, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to Ronald McDonald House.
