OTTAWA – Norma Jean Polach, age 82, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at La Salle County Nursing Home.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, February 11, 2015 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Corey Krengiel officiating. Burial will follow in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. till service time on Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home.
Norma was born October 9, 1932 in Ottawa, the daughter of Walter and Agnes (Battistini) Protch. She married Rudolph L. Polach August 18, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church in Naplate. He preceded her in death February 27, 2013. Norma is survived by four sons, Theodore (Yuki) Polach of Jacksonville, Florida, Randolph (Nancy) Polach and Donald Polach, all of Ottawa, and David Polach of Missouri; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald Protch; and one grandson at birth.
Norma was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Naplate as well as the Altar and Rosary Society. She graduated from Ottawa Marquette High School in 1950. Norma was a homemaker. She had a passion for sewing and knitting. Norma was devoted to her family and cherished her time spent with them. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary’s Church in Naplate.
