Norma E. (Scarber) Overocker

OTTAWA – Norma Overocker, age 70, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 8, at St. Columba Cemetery with Father Herve Abou officiating.
Norma was born May 14, 1942 in DuQuoin, Illinois, a daughter of William and Dora Scarber. She married Donald Edward Eich in La Salle County on November 11, 1961. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her children James (Beverly ) Eich of Peru, Maggie (Chuck) Dawson of Spring Valley, Brenda (Daniel “Sheep”) Hughes of Earlville, and Raymond Mercker, Jr. and his fiancé, Lois of DuQuoin, Illinois; her brothers and sisters, Richard, Charlie, William, Jerry, Vie, Sharon, Glinda, Rose, Midge and Marilyn; as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen and Fern.
Norma was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing Bingo and cherished time spent with her family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in care of Gladfelter Funeral Home.
