Nola Jean Sanders

Nola Jean Sanders, 78, of Ottawa, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at her home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. John Peterson of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Sanders was born April 26, 1928, in Ottawa, to Francis and Nellie (Haff) Maltas. She married Roy James Sanders on June 3, 1946, in Streator. She worked at Owens Glass Company in Streator and worked at the Ottawa Township High School cafeteria, and also worked for the City of Ottawa Recreation department for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Gladys (Chuck) Clairmont of Ottawa; two sons, Ronald (Yang) of Brandon, Fla. and Ralph (Lori) of Ottawa; thirteen grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Ott and Leila Seaborn both of Ottawa; and a brother, Dale Maltas of Marseilles. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Sandra; four brothers, Donald, Arnold, Gene and Floyd Maltas; and a sister, Dorothy Ferguson. Pallbearers will be Scott, Roy and Richard Sanders, Jason Clarimont, Jeff Beldon and Shawn Miklaitis. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Larson, Dr. Terry Love, Gary Ramos and Scott Pronger. Memorials may be directed to the family.
