Neil Shambaugh

Neil I. Shambaugh, age 82, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Arc of Dwight in Dwight, Illinois.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 28, at 11 a.m. at Debolt Cemetery in Wedron.  There will be a celebration of life held afterwards at Karma in Wedron.

Neil was born on November 17, 1940, the son of Isaac and Mary June (Land) Shambaugh, in Sandwich, Illinois.  He is survived by his children, Neil Shambaugh Jr., Mark (Robin) Shambaugh, William Shambaugh, Kathy (Jim) Christensen, Patty (Paul Dickey) Shambaugh, and Paul Shambaugh; grandchildren, Candice Shambaugh, Paige and Ashley Shambaugh, Caitlyn and Kelsey Christensen, and Zach Wagers; great grandchild, Blakely Ann Carroll; and a brother, Mike Shambaugh.  He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven T. Shambaugh; siblings, Gerald Shambaugh, Janis Flashing, and Allen Shambaugh; and a girlfriend, Betty Sue King.

Neil was a member of the Moose for many years.  He was a proud owner operator truck driver and worked for several companies throughout his career.  Neil liked to have fun and enjoyed going fishing.  More than anything, he loved his family and cherished the time spent with them.
