Mitzi Darlene (Gillenwater) Mason

Mitzi Darlene Mason, age 51, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 23 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Pastor John Paul Robbins officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 22nd at the funeral home.
Mitzi was born May 26, 1966 in Kingsport, TN, the daughter of Herschel and Ola Mae (Russell) Gillenwater. She married Randy Mason on June 5, 1984 in Pineville, KY. Surviving are her husband Randy of Ottawa; her parents, Herschel (Marilyn) Gillenwater and Ola Mae Carter; her son, Anthony Mason of Ottawa; a brother, Junior (Cynthia) Gillenwater of Parsons, TN; and two sisters, Kimberly Deck of Witt, IL and Brenda (Matt) Dieter of Naperville. She was preceded in death by a son, Jacob Isaac Mason.
Mitzi attended the Pentecostal Church. In her free time she liked playing Bingo. She enjoyed cooking, and was especially known for the biscuits and gravy and cinnamon rolls she made for her family. She thoroughly loved and cherished her dog, Little Bit, and her time spent with her family. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
