Mildred "Milly" Brue

Mildred "Milly" L. Brue, 78, of Ottawa, died Saturday, August 26, 2006, at home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church with the Rev. Tim Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home and one hour prior the the services at the church. Mrs. Brue was born June 13, 1928, in Ottawa, to Harry and Ora (Donoho) Holloway. She married Reuben L. Brue on November 28, 1942, in Cahokia, Missouri. She was a former president of the Lincoln School PTA; worked for American Union Life Insurance; and active in Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Judy (Vernon) Reynolds and Sandra Greer; six sons, Robert of Ottawa, Kenneth (Linda) of Virginia, Ill., Allen (Debbie) of DeKalb, Ill., Denny (Pat) of Decatur, Ill., Greg (Theresa) of Beaver Dam, Wisc. and Lester (Claire) of Des Moines, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lester, Loren and Harry, Jr.; and a sister, Evelyn Wilkinson. Pallbearers will be Larry Malaise, Tim Reynolds, Matt and Mike Brue, Julie Meagher and Cindy Brue. Memorials may be directed to the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church.
