Michael J. Gambo, 84, of Ottawa, died Monday, October 30, 2006, at Community Hospital of Ottawa. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Naplate with the Rev. Steven P. Loftus officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with liturgical prayers at 4 p.m. Mr. Gambo was born November 6, 1921, in Standard, Illinois to John and Katherine (Gambo) Gambo. He married Mary Laicoff in January of 1944. He was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School. He was a veteran and served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a retired Iron Worker. He was a member of the K of C's, Loyal Order of the Moose and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Naplate. He is survived by his wife; and a daughter, Sharon Gambo of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosalie Johnson and Merina Gambo; and a brother, Anthony. Pallbearers will be Tom Nestler, Bill Laicoff, Gary Maycherin, John Springer, Gregg Schneider and Mark Thompson. Memorials may be directed to the church
