OTTAWA – Michael D. Farmer, 50, of Ottawa passed away Sunday morning, June 1, 2014 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Private family services will be held. Gladfelter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Michael was born January 13, 1964 in Sandwich, Illinois, the son of David R. and Nancy A. (Johnson) Farmer. He was married to Arlene Martinez for 25 years before going their separate ways. Survivors include two sons, Justin and Jared Farmer, both of Ottawa; a sister, Vicki Farmer of Morris; a half-sister, Michele Constantino of Streator; and his girlfriend, Patty Smith of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Connie Farmer.
Michael was a welder for Vactor in Streator. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. In his leisure, Michael enjoyed woodworking and metal craftsmanship.
