OTTAWA - Meredith Kathryn Alderman was born January 30, 1983 in Evergreen Park, Illinois, a daughter of Ralph and April (Williams) Coyle, Sr. Meredith spent the first nine years of her life growing up in Burbank, Illinois before moving to Seneca, Illinois. She graduated from Seneca High School in 2001. While in high school, Meredith was active in many organizations such as SADD, Chorus, National Honor Society, Student Council and the Spanish and Science Clubs. After high school, Meredith attended Illinois Valley Community College where she earned an Associate Degree. Meredith currently resided in Ottawa with her husband, Grady Alderman. Meredith enjoyed her work with autistic children as a teacher's aide with the Grundy County School district where she had been employed the past six years. Meredith lost her brave four year battle with cancer June 17, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Meredith is survived by her husband, Grady of Ottawa; parents, Ralph and April Coyle, Sr. of Seneca; her siblings, Tracee Coyle of Dekalb, Ralph Coyle, Jr. and his wife Sherry of Seneca, and Sarah McAlpine and her husband Matt of Seneca. She also leaves her father and mother-in-law, Dave and Chris Alderman of Ottawa; sisters-in-law, Raechel Drake and husband Clay of Greeley, CO and Chelsea Alderman of Ottawa; brothers-in-law, Eric Jensen and wife Laura of Utica and Colby Alderman of Ottawa. Nieces and nephews Christopher Schipiour, Jared, Dayton and Bryce Coyle, Hunter, Madilynn, Maverick and Josie McAlpine, Grace and Walker Drake also survive and will deeply miss their "Aunt Mimi." Meredith was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Coyle-Schipiour and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral services honoring Meredith's life will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Rev. Cheryl Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Seneca. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tracee Coyle, Ralph Coyle, Jr., Sarah McAlpine, Christopher Schipiour, Colby Alderman and Eric Jensen. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
