Melody Hope (Jedlin) Schenherr-Cynar

Melody Hope Schenherr-Cynar, age 49, of Marseilles, passed away Sunday morning, November 24, 2013 at her home.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 30 ^th at St. Columba Church in Ottawa with Reverend David M. Kipfer celebrating.  There will be no visitation.  Gladfelter Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Melody was born February 14, 1964 at Batavia, Illinois, a daughter of Lester and Helen (Rheiner) Jedlin.  She married Carl “Rick” Schenherr, Jr. December 17, 1983 at Miami, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death.  She later married Steven Cynar in March 2003 at Ottawa.  Surviving are her husband, Steven of Marseilles; her mother, Helen Jedlin of Downers Grove; children, Jacklyn Sanchez of Ottawa and Jason Schenherr of Marseilles.  She also leaves a brother, Edward Hasenjager of New Mexico; a sister, Marian Dorn of New Mexico; her grandchildren, Brian, Alexander, Jadelynn, Lillian and Christopher; and a niece, Laura Maggi of Chicago.  Her father and one sister, Estelle Jedlin preceded in death.

Melody was of the Catholic faith.  She had been employed as a nurse at Medicalodge in Columbus, Kansas.  She proudly served in the Army Reserves.  Melody dearly enjoyed her family, particularly her grandchildren and spending time gardening.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
