Maryann (Johnson) Erickson

May 13, 1938 — April 17, 2014

MaryAnn Erickson, 75, of Sheridan, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Pastor David W. Davies, Jr., Pastor James Molstre and Pastor Richard "Dick" Miller officiating.  Burial will follow at Norway Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Harry Erickson, Mike and Craig Twait, Randy Broadus, Kerry Carlson, and Steve Polkowski.  Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, Larry Broadus, Lyle Bowen, and John Stewart.

MaryAnn was born May 13, 1938 in Sandwich, Illinois, the daughter of Howard M. and Clarice (Duffy) Johnson.  She married Joe Erickson June 1, 1957 at the Sheridan Methodist Church.  Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Joe, of Sheridan; her children, Bruce Erickson and Brad (Kathy) Erickson, all of Sheridan; grandchildren, Tanya Erickson (Steve Polkowski) of Duluth MN and Blair (Kerry) Carlson of Newark; a great granddaughter, Lyla Carlson; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Hallie.

MaryAnn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ottawa.  She was a varsity cheerleader at Serena Grade School and High School.  MaryAnn worked for FS Fertilizer, Ottawa Silica, and Cleary Buildings.  In her leisure time MaryAnn enjoyed visiting antique shops, sewing, interior decorating, fishing, and going to garage sales.  Her most cherished times were those spent shopping with her grandchildren and time spent with her family in Minnesota.  The family requests no flowers.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ottawa First United Methodist Church Capital Improvement Fund.
