Mary Elizabeth Sheridan , 93, of 116 Jones St., Ottawa, passed away at 9:20 p.m. Saturday evening, February 14, 2009, at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Columba Church with the Rev. David M. Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a Rosary at 4 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Mrs. Sheridan was born Feb. 1, 1916, in Cherry, Ill., to Paul Peter and Elizabeth Margaret (Danko) Vatsula. She married James Andrew Sheridan, Sr., on May 20, 1942, at St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was a lifetime bookkeeper for the family business, Marquette Steel, and a member of St. Columba Church, the St. Columba Altar and Rosary Society, and the Catholic Daughters. She is survived by three sons, James A. Jr. (Joanne), William T. (Susan) and Charles P., all of Ottawa; three daughters, Margaret (George) Cekis of Alpharetta, Ga., Katherine (David) Bute of Pemberton, N.J., and Mary Lou (Mark) Krichiver of Chicago; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A.Sheridan, Sr., her brothers, John and Paul Vatsula, and her sister Anne Synkowski. Pallbearers will be David, Daniel, and Matthew Bute, Ryan Krichiver, and Keith and Stephen Sheridan. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
