OTTAWA - Mary Louise "Marilou" Rice, age 79, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 18, 2010 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Memorial services will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Oakwood Memorial Park. Pastor Donna Trinko of the Evangelical United Methodist Church will officiate. Gladfelter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Mary Louise Rice was born July 16, 1931 at Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of Robert J. and Alma (Baertschy) Theiss. She married Robert H. Rice on August 18, 1951. He preceded her in death February 13, 2001. She is survived by her children, John (Pam) Rice of Bloomington, IL and a daughter, Lisabeth "Liz" Gleim of Eugene, Oregon. She also leaves grandchildren, Nicholas and Natalie Rice and Kevin and Lauren Gleim. Her parents preceded her in death. Marilou attended the Evangelical United Methodist Church. A devoted mother and grandmother, Marilou cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association for Nicholas Rice.
