Mary Kay Dettore, 87, of Ottawa passed away Thursday evening at 9:18 p.m., May 15, 2008, at home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, Ill. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Mrs. Dettore was born June 29, 1920, in Ladd, Ill., to Mario and Dena (Fassino) Cioni. She married Angelo Battisto Dettore on July 25, 1938, in Ottawa, Ill. He died June 25, 2004. She worked in the UAW Union Center as a laundress. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Naplate; and a 56-year life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. She is survived by a son, David of Umatilla, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Rosemary of Naplate; eight grandchildren, Vince, Greg (Jodee Armbrust), Dawn, Michael (Rosa), David "Vitto" (Arlene), Chris Dettore, Tina (Barry) Lund, and Jodi (Rick) Robare; fifteen great grandchildren and three great, great, grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Manis of Umatilla, Fla., and Frances (Frank) Neurohr of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by a son, Vincent; a twin sister, Katherine "Kay" Twardowski; and a brother, Mario "Bud" Cioni. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Greg, Dawn, Michael, David, Arlene, Tina and Jodi. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to the Relay for Life in honor of Dawn Dettore.
