Marlene D. (Vicini) Jeffries

Marlene D. (Vicini) Jeffries, age 85, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at her residence with her loving family at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4th at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. Gary Caster officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.  Pallbearers will be Jason Kennedy, Nick Allegretti, Nick Jeffries, Eric Wheeler, Adam LeRette and Conner Wheeler.  Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Marlene was born October 24, 1934 in Ottawa, a daughter of Dante C. and Jane (Conrad) Vicini. She was raised by her Father and Stepmother, Dante and Doris (Weygandt) Vicini.  Marlene married Richard “Dickie” Jeffries October 30, 1952 at St. Mary’s Church in Naplate.  He preceded her in death November 14, 2009.    Surviving are her children, Jody (Rodney) Kennedy of Naplate, James (his late wife Cindy) Jeffries, Rick (Judy) Jeffries and John (Shari) Jeffries all of Ottawa: grandchildren, Jennifer, Stacy, Jason, Kayla, Jessica, Nick and Kelsi; and great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Joey, Hannah, Conner, Cain, Trenton, Luca and Anthony.  She also leaves a brother, Gary (Lisa) Vicini of Spring Valley; and a sister, Merrie (Tom) Anderson of Ottawa.  Marlene was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Vicini and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Jeffries.

Marlene was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and the Ottawa Women of the Moose.  She dearly loved and cherished her family.  Her faithful dog Bella also held a special place in her heart.  Marlene provided a comfortable and loving home.  She always took great pride in displaying her Christmas village each year.
