SENECA – Mark A. Billings, 54, of Seneca, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, at Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with a memorial service starting at 2:45 p.m. A dinner will immediately follow at the Ottawa Moose Lodge.
Mark was born July 24, 1960 in Chicago, the son of Frank and Doris (Chase) Billings. He married Terry Skimerhorn March 27, 1985 in Chicago. Surviving are his wife, Terry, of Seneca; his mother, Doris, of Dierks, AR; his daughter, Amanda (Shane) Valdez, of Seneca; his granddaughter, Samantha Valdez; a brother, Steve Billings of Bloomingdale, IL; a sister, Gloria (Dennis) Tipton of Dierks, AR; nieces and nephews, Monica and Billy Oglesby and their children, Caitlen and Kai, Michelle and Clinton Crenshaw and their children, Joseph, Sakina, and Azaan, and Tiffany Skimerhorn and her children, Connor and Lily; and close family friends, Tim and Justin Schmanske, both of Seneca. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Frank; his mother in-law, Kay Skimerhorn; and his brother in-law, Jim Skimerhorn.
Mark was employed as a truck driver by Breckenridge Trucking. He was a member of the Ottawa Moose Lodge. Mark was an avid sports enthusiast, and was a loyal follower of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawks, and Seattle Impact. Mark was a devoted family man and cherished his time spent with his family.
