RUTLAND TOWNSHIP -- Marjorie “Peg” (Twohey) Swanson, 84, of Rutland Township, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at Pleasant View.
Funeral Mass will be held at Noon Saturday, October 17, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Church with Rev. Tony Fevlo officiating. Interment will follow in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to time of services Saturday at the church. Gladfelter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Peg was born July 27, 1931, in Rutland Township, a daughter of James E. and Marie (Tucker) Twohey. She was a 1949 graduate of Ottawa Township High School and in her younger years had been employed at several Ottawa businesses including Harboldt’s, Montgomery Ward and as a bookkeeper at the Ottawa Body Shop.
On November 14, 1953, at St. Patrick’s Church, she married Charles A. “Bud” Swanson. They resided for over 50 years in the home they built on Parr Hill in Rutland Township. Bud passed away May 24, 2011. Peg was a member of St. Patrick’s Church
She is survived by one daughter, Angela (Juan) Salce and one son, Larry Swanson, both of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Justin (Sarah Ziegler) Seibert and Meggan Williams; and two great grandchildren, Josalyn Lyle and Samuel Seibert.
Peg was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters, Loretta Graham and Mary Morrison.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Patrick’s Church, or the Ottawa American Legion Honor Guard.
