Marie D. Rentz

Marie D. Rentz, 78, of Ottawa, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at her home. Private funeral services were held at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. Lisa Hadler officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Rentz was born November 24, 1929, in LaSalle Ill., to Joseph A. and Marie (Stachowiak) Marczykowski. She married Bernard E. Rentz on February 14, 1951, in Peoria. He died in February 7, 1984. She was a member of First Congregational United Church Of Christ of Ottawa, past member and president of American Association of University Women. She retired after 24 years as manager of the Illinois Valley Community College Bookstore. She is survived by a son, Philip J. Rentz of Ottawa, two daughters, Susan (Charles) Barlow of Ottawa and Jane (Marty) Less of Bargersville Indiana; four grandchildren, Jessica and Jordan Less and Christine and Charles Barlow; two sisters, Jean Klessig and Joan Lewis both of Green Valley, Arizona.
